The National Society for Rehabilitation, hereafter known as NSR - Gaza strip was established in 1990. It started working under the title “National Committee for Rehabilitation in Jerusalem, West Bank and Gaza Strip until 1993.
At that time, there was a clear lack of services and rehabilitation in particular. Then, NSR was registered at the Ministry of Interior under No. 2095 as a charitable organization.
It was initially composed of the following members:- (Red Crescent Society, Near East Council of Churches /DSPR-Gaza, Arab Women Union, Central Blood Bank Society, YMCA, Ahly-Arab Hospital, UNRWA, Arab-Medical Association). In 1993, NSR started its activities in Beach Refugee and Bureij Refugee Camps, through building the first model of Community-Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP). Then, as a result of achievements, NSR has generalized the concept of CBR and administered it over 25 geographical localities in the Gaza strip, which includes four governorates; Rafah, Khan Younis, Middle Zone, and Gaza. Thus, CBR covers about 75% of the total area of Gaza strip and population. But NSR works in all over the Gaza Strip.
As part of a partnership agreement signed with Handicap International in order to implement a project funded by MOFA Luxemburg entitled “Multi-stakeholder initiative towards a more effective response to Persons with Disabilities' needs and demands in the State of Palestine; Also, a project funded by and EU / NSA entitled “Fostering multi-stakeholders mobilization for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in their community in marginalized areas of oPt”,
NSR is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Position Title: Project Coordinator
Location: North Gaza, Gaza, and Middle Area
Accountable To: CBR General Supervisor and CBR Program Manager
Duration: 18 months, Extension is subject to funds availability, continuing need and satisfactory performance.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Project Management, Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation Support:
-Assist in the development, management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project.-Maintain the project excellence and quality standards in a manner that is consistent with the organizations guiding principles, mission and vision.-Offer administrative leadership and supervision for the field staff in the community and offer the needed technical support.-Conduct field visits to ensure that the project plan is implemented in a proper manner and achieves the desired outcomes.-Submit the required reports and other requirements in line with the approved deadlines and formats.-Compile, maintain and document the projects/s related reports, daily work records, and other relevant documents.
-Coordinate with the different project staff, partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure better management and effective implementation of the project plan.-Conduct weekly meetings with the projects staff to discuss work related issues.
-Participate in the project steering committee meetings on quarterly basis.
-Participate and support stakeholders’ committee meetings on regularly basis.
-Facilitating effective communication and maintaining a close working relationship with project team.
-Strengthen coordination with relevant stakeholders committee in active engagement with civil society.
Community Mobilization Support:
-Ensure providing technical support to stakeholders’ committee in tracking and monitoring of community mobilization towards project objectives.
-Ensure the meaningful involvement of person with disabilities, and promote awareness and develop relationships with partners and social networking.
-Build stakeholders capacities to strengthen links between disability issues and decision makers and enable the stakeholders committee to take the ownership of project context.
-Offer financial monitoring to ensure the compliance with the approved financial procedures.
-Organize all related logistical arrangements for the planned activities in the community.
-Provide any financial reports or forecasts requested, and negotiating their revision in relation to program spending, if necessary.
-Invoicing Management on a monthly basis and keeping track of expenditure against budgets and work plans.
-Bachelor degree in business administration, social sciences or any other related fields. And medical background is an asset.
-knowing organizations very well in the Middle Area are an advantage.
-Minimum 2 years of experience in project management and budgets monitoring.
-Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
-Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities.
-Ability to plan and coordinate the most effective use of staff, facilities and resources to achieve successful project objectives.
-Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in both Arabic and English.
-Ability to work with limited supervision and to structure own work independently.
-Ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently, and cope with stress.
-Ability to solve problem
-Skill in document composition.
-Good knowledge of word processing and basic programs such as excel power point and web browsing.
