Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Children learn a lot from their parents, such as values and human relationship. Those are very important when they start their lives outside of their family, so parents are great teachers for their children in many cases. However, they are not always the best teachers. I believe more important things can be learned outside of a family.
First, parents often teach their children with their own thoughts or ideas, so parents might narrow the way of their children's thinking. For example, when their children do something different from what they do. They try to stop it because they believe it will not be good for their children. Children usually have only a few choices to decide inside their family and sometimes they are forced to follow their parents' decision, regardless of their will.
Second, parents at large, especially order ones, cannot keep up with the latest trend. For instance, nowadays, the computer technology has been developing rapidly, so the younger generation needs higher skills of computers. However, the parents in the generation can't follow the trend, so they can no longer teach their children what they need today.
Thirdly, parents can be too kind to their children. They are their own children, so the parents can't be strict enough to lead them to the right way when they do something wrong. However, people outside are not so lenient as the parents. Therefore, children will learn to know that they can't have their own way like when they are with their parents.
For those reasons, parents are not always the best teachers. I believe children can learn a lot outside their family. It is sometimes much more useful.
Parents are the first teachers' kids meet in their lives. Considering them best or bad teachers depends on their level of education, knowledge, attitudes, behaviors and judgment. just like you mentioned up
